There will be quite a few events for Camp #2161 Members in the next year. Because of our success at Liverpool. We have
been invited to participate in the Lord mayors parade in 2010. Hopefully we can have a good turn out of both members and supporters
for this . This is a chance for the Confederate banners to be taken around Liverpool and flown in public for the first time
since 1865.This would be an even greater stride for Southern Heritage than the flying of the Confederate banner from the government
building in Falmouth.
Also planned is a marker ceremony for Southern supporter Zachariah Charles Pearson of Hull and Captain John Parker
who is buried close by in the Spring bank cemetery. The date for this event will depend on the availability of his survivivg
Great-grand-daughter.And...we hav'nt finished in Liverpool yet....Councillor Berni Turner has proposed that we hold
a 'Liverpool Confederate Heritage weekend' annually in Liverpool and I believe we should consider 2010 as being the first
year for this event .
