On Sunday August 29 the first presentation of the ECMOH took place , this was at the Old Spring bank cemetery in Hull,
the medal was recieved by the surviving grand daughter of zachariah c pearson , a man who was a blockade builder and owner
and whose support of the South cost him £880,000, which in todays money is £61,800,000 or approx $100,000,000 !
Neville and myself where in attendance with absences from Peter Rossi ( injury ) and Chris and Michael Dowling ( prior
commitment).
Almost 80 relatives of zachariah were present and the medal presentation was well recieved , especially as it was the
final part in a large scale celebration in a weekend to commemorate him.
